BOOKING IS ESSENTIAL
Our pottery classes are run for groups or individuals.
The classes are kept small, there are 4 wheels but up to 8 can be accommodated.
Old clothes are advisable but t-shirts, which can act as cover-alls, are available.
Warm clothes in the winter months are a necessity.
Team building sessions are also available. Get to know your colleagues as they make a pot on the wheel or have fun hand building
with clay. Our setting allows for a relaxed visit, take a walk along the local footpaths, share a hot drink, enjoy the peaceful
countryside. Once the pots are fired they can take pride of place in the office!!
A GIFT VOUCHER for a pottery session or two makes an original birthday, Christmas or special occasion present.
These can easily be arranged via our email, info@millandpottery.co.uk, or by phone 01428 741530.
Angela will demonstrate how to make pots on the potter's wheel and then talk you through the process.
The pottery has four wheels, three electric and a kick wheel.
Making pots on the wheel involves various
stages. The pot needs
to dry between each stage. The first lesson is spent mastering centering the clay and forming a pot.
If a second session
is possible, the semi dried pot is turned upside down and excess clay is cut away. Decoration
can then be applied as required.
(If only one session is applicable, the pots can be finished off for you. There is a small charge for this.)
The emphasis is on having fun, getting mucky and not to have to worry about it.
Costs include all materials and firings in group sessions.
While the number of pots made in a session is not limited it may be necessary to limit the number of pots fired
(3 pots per person). Extras will be charged at £5 per lb fired weight.
Regular shared classes are charged at £20 per person per hour. An initial 1:1 session (£45) is
highly recommended before joining
a group class. A charge is made for materials of £5 per lb fired weight.
The prices for 'two sessions' are the combined prices of both sessions - the second session is used to finish your pots.
Once the pots are dry they are fired and glazed. They are ready to collect in about 4-6 weeks.
