Pots made at Milland Pottery use a red earthenware clay. Made on the potter's wheel they originally took inspiration from the English Country potteries. Over the years the pots have developed into pieces mainly made for exhibitions. The bright colours of earthenware are maintained but tempered with burnished unglazed surfaces which juxtapose the glazed areas. Decoration is applied so as not to overwhelm the all important shape of the pot. The harmony of colours used is all important.
Birth plates, wedding plates, anniversary celebrations pots, named mugs,
house name plates etc. can all be made to order either as individual pieces or small runs.
Wedding Lists welcomed.
As all the commemorative wares are individually made, please give as much notice as possible; each piece has to be made, dried, decorated and fired.
We aim to follow your requirements as closely as possible.
It is also possible for us to make a pot which you or your family can decorate.
